Dr. Tony Campolo
Thursday, November 2, 7:00 PM at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 700 Ethel SE, Grand Rapids MI
Perhaps one of the most sought after Christian speakers of our time, Dr. Tony Campolo, will address our audience on "Why I Changed my Mind.” He is a graduate of Eastern University and earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Temple University. He is a dynamic speaker who for many years has been in high demand as a presenter at Christian conferences for young people as well as adults. He has long been a Christ-centered champion for the poor and oppressed. Although he was for many years an outspoken traditionalist regarding condemning gay marriage, Dr. Campolo had a change of heart and mind in 2015: “It has taken countless hours of prayer, study, conversation and emotional turmoil to bring me to the place where I am finally ready to call for the full acceptance of Christian gay couples into the Church” (For the Record, 2015). An author of 39 books, Dr. Campolo is also an ordained minister in the American Baptist Church. Dr. Campolo’s speech will be held at Calvin CRC at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 2.
